B-52J Bomber to Pack a Punch
The Air Force's B-52J Will Be a Flying Arsenal
The United States Air Force is planning to upgrade its fleet of B-52H bombers to the B-52J variant, which will feature a number of new weapons and capabilities. The B-52J is expected to begin test flights in 2028 and will be fully operational by 2030.
The most significant upgrade to the B-52J will be the addition of a new weapons bay that will allow it to carry up to 80 cruise missiles. The B-52J will also be equipped with new radar and electronic warfare systems, as well as improved engines.
The B-52 has been in service since the 1950s, and it has been continually updated to keep it relevant in modern warfare. The B-52J will be the most advanced variant of the bomber yet, and it is expected to remain in service for decades to come.
