England reach Euro 2024 semi-finals after penalty shootout win over Switzerland

Kane and Pickford the only remaining players from the England team that started in the 2019 Nations League third-place play-off win over Switzerland

This will be the fourth meeting between England and Switzerland at a major tournament and third at the UEFA European Championship

England have reached the semi-finals of Euro 2024 after a 5-3 penalty shootout victory over Switzerland.

The match was goalless after 120 minutes, with England's Harry Kane and Switzerland's Haris Seferovic missing penalties in normal time.

In the shootout, England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford saved penalties from Fabian Frei and Ruben Vargas, while Trent Alexander-Arnold scored the winning penalty.

England will now face either Sweden or Ukraine in the semi-finals on Wednesday, July 12.
