Beth Mead Set for Future Honours and Recognition

New Honours For Yorkshire Superstar

Councillor Motion Seeks to Honour Beth Mead's Success

Councillor Andrew Waller, North Yorkshire County Council's representative for Whitby, has proposed a motion to officially recognise and honour the achievements of England and Arsenal star Beth Mead, who was instrumental in the Lionesses' victory at the UEFA Women's Euro 2022 tournament.

Mead, who grew up in North Yorkshire, emerged as one of the standout performers of the tournament, earning the prestigious Golden Boot award for scoring the most goals and being named the Player of the Match in the final. Her exceptional skills and determination played a vital role in England's historic victory.

In recognition of her phenomenal achievements, Councillor Waller's motion calls for the council to consider naming a local landmark or facility after Beth Mead, such as a sports centre or a community space. The motion also suggests exploring the possibility of organising a civic reception or parade to celebrate her success.
